DEVICE DONATION SCHEME
2econd Chance is a computer recycling charity committed to bridging the digital divide by offering refurbished devices through our network of community partners. We are committed to donating 1 in 4 of every device we refurbish back into the community meaning the more devices we receive the more people we can help. Last year we were incredibly proud to donate over 300 devices to support individuals to get online.
There are several barriers that can affect digital inclusion such as:
-
Affordability – the means to connect to the internet.
-
Skills – having the skills and knowledge to use online services.
-
Confidence – being confident to use tech and navigate the internet independently.
-
Motivation – understanding why the internet is relevant and important in our day-to-day lives.
Our Device Donation Scheme is open for referrals from community and voluntary sector groups. Referrals to the scheme can be made at any time, however devices will be allocated monthly based on donations received. Once your request has been submitted you will receive regular updates but there may be a delay due to a lack of suitable devices or a large number of applications. Your patience once we’ve received your application is much appreciated.
Eligibility Criteria: -
-
Referrals must be made through an organisation.
-
Cap of two referrals per organisation a month.
-
On Collection, individuals are requested to provide us with a quote about how they will use their device.
-
Referral organisations are required to support individuals completing evaluation forms so we can track our impact.
-
All devices must be collected from our office within 10 days of acknowledgement.
London Borough of Barnet Organisations
Working closely with Barnet Council, we are delighted to support their work promoting digital inclusion. To support its residents, individuals are required to attend 6 free digital drop-in workshops or receive telephone support.

"Thank you for allowing my client to have the opportunity to be in receipt of a laptop. This will be so beneficial to him in allowing him to advance in his studies and future career. This is much more than a laptop to him!"
PARTIALLY SUBSIDISED DEVICES
Our subsidised scheme offers refurbished technology, tailored to budget and needs, for organisations in Barnet receiving Government or Local Authority funding or those beyond the borough.
Through this scheme organisations can apply for desktops, laptops, tablets or mobile phones.
Click below to make your selection (subject to availability). We will do our upmost to fulfil requests as swiftly as possible and will be in touch to discuss alternative options if needed. On completion of the form, you will receive an invoice which needs to be settled before devices can be collected.
All devices must be collected from our office within 10 days of acknowledgment.
For organisations interested in receiving larger numbers of donations we are happy to partner on a joint funding application. Contact info@2econdchance.co.uk to arrange an initial conversation.
