Our impact

I've been volunteering at 2econd Chance for a few months now.
I heard about 2econd Chance through my social housing provider. I was talking to them about my job search and they suggested it as a way to build skills I could put on my CV. It's now one of the highlights of my week.
I'm technically inclined — I did some programming at school but since I've been here I've picked up more of the specifics of working with these machines.
I've worked as a courier, at Iceland, and at CeX, but I actually want a job in IT tinkering with computers, essentially what I already do here, but paid. I care about who I'd be working for, too; I've turned away from applying to roles in gambling or the military because they don't sit right with my values.
Even if I get a job, I'd still want to keep coming here. It's a chance to do something I enjoy, help people, and see familiar faces — I've made friends here.
