2econd Chance: Proud Supporter of Barnet Get Online Week

22nd – 26th August

Barnet Get Online week is a digital inclusion campaign organised by Barnet Council and BOOST whose vision is a world where everyone benefits from digital. The Barnet Get Online Network Forum was set up in September 2021 to bring together community groups and Barnet Council to spread digital inclusion across the Borough for residents. 2econd Chance has been a member of the Forum since its outset and this has been a great opportunity to meet other local community groups , promote our work and explore potential collaborations.

At each meeting the numbers of groups involved have increased with everyone agreeing how fantastic it is to get an understanding of what was happening locally. To celebrate all of the members hard work and commitment to removing barriers to Digital Inclusion the first Barnet Get Online week will be held between Monday 22nd to Friday 26th August. 2econd Chance is delighted to be part of the plans for the week and are excited to announce that we will be launching laptop donation points in all 14 libraries across the borough. Thanks to partnerships developed through the forum anyone with a library card will be able to donate their unwanted machines during library staffed hours. All donated laptops, tablets and other devices will be stored securely before being transported to 2econd Chance where all data will be wiped and refurbished by one of our trainees.

The official launch will be at Burnt Oak Library on Thursday 25th August, check our your local library for more information and to find out how your unwanted machines provide training for vulnerable people.
