Meet Our Trustees

Nigel Canin (Co-founder and Chair)
Nigel Canin is the co-founder and Chair of 2econd Chance. He started the charity with his friend Adam Goodman who has a physical disability. Nigel and Adam recognised that disabled people wanted to work but lacked opportunities for training and employment.
"Adam Goodman and I started 2econd Chance because it was clear to us that people with disabilities and additional needs wanted something purposeful to do but had few opportunities available to them.
"Too often they were isolated at home and left out of work, training and community life. We believed that with the right support, people could learn useful skills, build confidence and feel valued."

“I have over ten years of experience working in a variety of paediatric settings. I specialise in early intervention for children with severe and complex needs.
I have a specialist interest in Autism. I am a firm believer in individualised approaches as every child is unique! I also have a keen interest in AAC.
(Alternative and Augmentative systems) and have experience with eye gaze and other technology.
I support pre-school children through to young adults with a range of needs, e.g. attention and listening difficulties, understanding of language, extending language, problem solving, social skills and executive function difficulties."

Dawn Hallybone
"I'm incredibly proud to be a trustee of 2econd Chance. The charity's mission of helping vulnerable individuals build new skills, putting much-needed technology into the hands of disadvantaged people, and giving used devices a new life sits right at the heart of what I care about.
When you work in tech and education, you see firsthand how transformative access to the right tools and knowledge can be, and how much of a difference it makes when people are given a real opportunity to grow.
Being a trustee lets me bring those experiences to somewhere they can genuinely matter. Whether that's helping shape the organisation's direction, thinking through how technology can better serve the people we support, or simply making sure the charity is in the best possible position to keep doing what it does so well. Seeing the real-world impact on individuals and communities is what makes it all worthwhile.
I feel lucky to give my time to a cause like this, and I'll keep doing so for as long as I can be useful."

David Morley
"I am extremely proud to be a trustee of 2econd Chance. The charity’s commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals learn new skills, providing much needed technology to disadvantaged people in the community as well as recycling used devices is something that is incredibly important to me and aligns to my values.
Being a trustee of a charity that creates real opportunities is incredibly rewarding. As a trustee, I value the chance to help guide the organisation, support its mission, and ensure it continues to make a meaningful difference.
Seeing the positive impact that the charity has on individuals and communities makes me proud to contribute my time and experience to such an important cause."
